US President Donald Trump has once again made a false claim, declaring that he has signed more bills into law than any of his predecessors and praising his own performance as president.
Speaking on Wednesday at West Palm Beach, Florida, Trump also claimed credit for the stock market hitting record highs and touted his administration’s work to roll back government regulations and cut taxes.
“We have signed more legislation than anybody,” Trump said, as he visited firefighters and paramedics near his Florida golf club.
“We have more legislation passed, including — the record was [former President] Harry Truman a long time ago, and we broke that record, so we got a lot done,” Trump said.
An analysis by GovTrack, a website that tracks bills in Congress, shows that Trump has signed the fewest bills into law at this point than any president in more than 60 years, back to Dwight Eisenhower.

The website shows that Trump only signed 94 bills into law by his 336th day in office. That’s eight fewer than former President George W. Bush and not even half as many as former President Bill Clinton.
Trump has made over 1,600 false or misleading statements since he has become president of the United States, an average of 5.5 claims a day, according to an analysis by The Washington Post.
The newspaper’s Fact Checker has counted 1,628 false or misleading claims by Trump as of November 14.
If the US president continues with his current pace, he will blow past 2,000 misstatements or untruths in his first year in office, it said.
His most repeated false statement is about the Affordable Care Act or Obamacare, which Trump has declared “essentially dead” or used some variation of that claim 60 times.
