I am not here to bury Caesar, but to praise him

I am swimming against the tide to shine a light and shower encomiums on Olorogun Jaro Egbo Ksc, a treasure that resonates with me. Your terrorist may be my freedom fighter because perspectives shape our truths. 

Despite the prevailing upsurge of negativity, I will still stand as a lone voice to blow Jaro's trumpet to the skies and challenge the consensus. 

Yes, Olorogun is not a saint but he is a beacon of kindness to me. You'll be surprised to know that he's the first politician in Delta State to send me money without my asking or him knowing me. In 2019, he simply saw a post I made and reached out like a guardian angel, requesting my details. Initially, I thought he wanted my phone number, but he specified account details. What followed was a net breaking alert 😁. Since then, our bond has grown strong and true like roots that dig deep. 

Now, let me surprise you - in 2019, when Olorogun sent this money, I was living in Ekrejebo, Ughelli, just a stone's throw from his palatial residence, then. Yet, to this day, we've never met in person. Despite that, I've handled contracts worth millions of naira. He calls me and sends money without hesitation, like a steady heartbeat. Honestly, I don't know the Jaro some of you are saying spilling negative biles about, but the Jaro I know is a rare gem.

 Even this Easter, I handled a procurement contract for him. I have enjoyed benevolence from Olorogun and many other great politicians in this state that I have not met in person. This is one reason I can't join you to drag my destiny helpers. Hehehehe! 

I've never met Olorogun in person. Yes, You heard me right. This is because it's not my style to chase fireflies for light.

This personal decision dates back to when Olorogun Samuel Mariere  represented Ughelli North Constituency 1 in the Delta State House of Assembly. I recall visiting his residence behind Heroes of Faith Church, Ughelli, with my uncle during my first year at the University of Benin.

What I saw rocked my boat. At around 8 am, his house was filled with people, like bees swarming a honeycomb, like patients waiting to see a Doctor in a General Hospital. The sight was nauseating like soured egusi soup. 

Since then, I intentionally avoid politicians' residences like a ship steering clear of rocky shores. I feel for them, politicians. Like I shared with my boss, Omonade Matthew , sometime ago, that most of our politicians from the state are suffering from giving fatigue. 

Apart from that visit to Hon. Marriere, I've visited only two politicians in the state: Olorogun Otega Emerhor and Hon. Matthew Omonade. My visit to Hon. Matthew was strictly for business purposes, like a scheduled flight plan - precise and purposeful.

Dear Delta youth, "e Don tell I see you" is better than "he Don come again". Create value for yourself, these men will look for you. 

Now, to the kickback issue, as a contractor in Nigeria, if you're not ready to grease the wheels, you should be ready for a bumpy ride. Even your favorite Oga, collects kickback 😁. In this part of the world we often hypocritically condemn in others what we ourselves practice. 

Olorogun, don't be deceived, when spiders unite, they can tie up a lion. I believe you will rise above the fireworks, using it as a fuel to tackle genuine concerns raised and bring dividends of democracy to the good people of Ughelli North LGA. The truth is, the more a monkey climbs, the more it reveals its behind. If you want to walk in a forest, thorns are inevitable. 

The stone that is fit for the wall should not be  left on the way. I trust Olorogun to deliver as Chairman of Ughelli North LGA.
