New NYSC Coordinator takes over in Oyo as Odoba bows out

A new leadership era has commenced at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Secretariat in Oyo State, as Mr. Kayode Ola Peters officially assumed duties as the new State Coordinator, succeeding Comrade Odoba Abel Oche, whose tenure has come to an end.

During a valedictory ceremony held at the NYSC Secretariat in Ibadan, Comrade Odoba expressed gratitude to God for a successful term in office.

He also appreciated the NYSC management for entrusting him with the responsibility of serving as the 21st State Coordinator in Oyo.

Odoba extended his heartfelt thanks to Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and other key stakeholders for their unwavering support throughout his tenure. 

He praised the staff for their dedication and collaboration, which he said played a vital role in the significant progress made by the NYSC in the state.

He encouraged the staff to continue working harmoniously and uphold the integrity of the Scheme.

Odoba urged them to give their full backing to the incoming Coordinator, describing Mr. Peters as a capable and responsible leader who deserves every support to build on the foundation laid.

In his first address to the staff, Mr. Kayode Ola Peters thanked the NYSC leadership, particularly the Director General, Brigadier General OO Nafiu, for the opportunity to serve. 

He applauded his predecessor for the achievements recorded during his administration and promised to continue the work with dedication.

Mr. Peters assured staff of his readiness to operate an inclusive and transparent administration. 

"Feel free to approach me. I am going to run an open-door administration," he stated, while calling on staff members to offer their full cooperation, stressing that the success of the Secretariat would be a collective achievement.

He also urged the team to be diligent, committed to their duties, and maintain mutual respect in the workplace.

During the ceremony, staff members paid glowing tributes to Comrade Odoba, describing him as a visionary leader who prioritized staff welfare and institutional progress. 

The event also featured the formal handover of documents to Mr. Peters, as well as the presentation of awards, commendation letters, and gifts to the outgoing Coordinator by friends and associates of the Scheme in the state.
