...as Prof. Gbore hails Registrar over top-notch training of Varsity Staff
The Vice-Chancellor of Sam Maris University (SMU), Supare-Akoko, Prof. Francis Gbore, has reiterated his firm commitment to the development of the institution.
This stance was restated while receiving the leadership of the Young Adults and Youth Affairs of Ondo Province 7 of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), who honoured him with an outstanding award.
The youth leaders, led by their President, Ogunade Adebola, described Prof. Gbore as a man filled with the milk of human kindness, citing his graciousness in granting their requests and his open-door policy.
While presenting the award, Ogunade said, "We are here today to appreciate you for your hard work. It is essential to recognize and reward dedication."
The Assistant Pastor in Charge of Youths in the Province (CSR), Ebitigha Akinsola, applauded Prof. Gbore for his invaluable contributions at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA).
"You are more than a leader, sir. You gave me a push when I needed it the most. Thank you for your humane contributions," Ebitigha added.
In response, the VC extolled the youths for their unexpected gesture, adding that the recognition would spur him to greater commitment.
Prof. Gbore, who was recently honoured with an award by the Deans of Student Affairs in Africa, noted, "It comes as a surprise to me because, within the last two months, I have received four awards. This particular award is very special to me because it is coming from my place of worship."
In a separate event, the VC commended the Registrar of the Institution, Mr. David Daramola, for organizing top-notch training for staff of the Registry.
During his address at the training, Prof. Gbore urged the members of staff to imbibe the spirit of hard work, emphasizing that the Registry plays an indispensable role in the day-to-day activities of the university.
While commending the Registrar for the in-house training, the VC advised the trainees to shun administrative laxity, dereliction of duty, and poor work ethics.
